is starting the program as an admin required for it to work? You could also help me by testing the current state and report bugs.į.e. I am happy to answer any questions or consider improvement proposals.

I know that there exists already the RTWMC, but since the Hotseat Launcher uses code injection, it works much more automatically and has more potential to fix the problems the RTWMC (and the HL currently) has. At the moment only the Steam Version (not BI or Alexander) is supported. Since there are no commands like in Medieval 2 to do this easily with launch parameters the program uses process editing / injection / hacking to do things like starting the game, saving, quitting etc automatically.Īn external folder share program like DropBox is still needed to transfer the save game files between players. Eitherway I would derely love the ability to play a Hotseat campaign over LAN in E:TW, specially if you can battle each other if you meet on the battlefield and not have to automatch (which may happen in the M2TW Hotseat Launcher anyway perhaps if you configure the settings correctly).I work on a Hotseat Launcher for Rome: Total War with which you can play campaigns with multiple players (online), similar to the Hotseat Launcher for Medieval 2.

Since the application was released 23rd April, and developed beforehand by two CA Devs it could be possibly that there work may get into Empire: Total War if CA have the time to impliment it in some form or another into E:TW, since they could always of improved on the Hotseat Launcher by now.Īnyway in light of these interesting events discuss your opinion. Firstly before you do anything you may wish to read here: Īnyway since it is now possible to play the Hotseat over LAN, and possibly Online using Hamatchi (testing to be done on that still), it made myself wonder the possiblities of having a Hotseat mode playable over LAN or Internet, not that it really matter which if you can use Hamatchi with it, in Empire: Total War.
